I am obsessed with judge shows. I think I watch them because it feels like clinical training. Almost a good 75% of the cases are concerning relationship obsession.
Whether its Judge Judy, my favorite, Judge Hatchett (a close second), Judge Karen on Centric Channel/(previously BET incase you wondered where she went), or Judge Greg Mathis ( a little coy for my taste), the usual case involves a woman, lets call her Mary, who falls in love with a man, lets call him John. In love with her new Man, John, Mary gives and gives and gives to him, usually in the form of money, rent, car payments, bail, and even child support believe it or not.
John, the Prince, of course takes all of the money but then John cheats. Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned…and scorned women now sue their men. Mary takes John to court to get him to pay her back for everything that she has given him because it was “a loan”. Of course John says it was all a gift, and why is Mary dragging him to court now? because she can’t let him go..because Mary “is obsessed” with him and can’t “let him go” because he has moved onto another woman…. Another woman who is, incidentally giving, and giving in the form of money, rent, car payments, bail, etc.. and the cycle goes on and on.
Happy in love, miserable while alone. If your mood is dependent on being in a relationship, you are asking for a life of drama, a bipolar-esque dramafest of ups and down, ecstasy followed by despondency, all dependent on what someone else thinks of you. Does he( or she) love me? Do they love me not?
