Born to Be Wild-Distractability and ADD

Wednesday, August 26th, 2009

My house in Maine has recently turned into a jungle…ever since I got the delivery of my new 6 month old kitten Horatio Alger. I have three other cats who are very focused, can maintain a good level of sustained close attention to detail with bugs and other wildlife,  and are sedate, with a level of activity quite consistent with their developmental level.

In contrast, we have the kitten, Horatio who illustrates all the symptoms of an Attentional Deficit Disorder. He can’t pay attention to any task for more than 10 seconds…whether this is eating, playing with a toy, it doesn’t matter what the activity is. Horatio is easily distracted by even the tiniest distraction around him. His mind simply looks like he is in outer space somewhere..

Sure, we think we can usually expect this kind of wild distracibility from a kitten or  the child in grade school with the diagnosis of ADHD who now takes Ritalin at the Nurse’s office.

Not true. There are lots of times in our lifetime that we can experience Wild Distractibility and spaciness. Problems with Attention are a 6th Chakra issue-this is our intuitive advisor that lets us know how well we see the world from all possible perspectives. Join me today on my Hay House Radio show as I show  you the Mind-Body and Medical Intuitive solutions to all of the possible reasons why your attention may have run wild. Please let me know on this blog what special concerns you have with your attention and how you have made peace with your unique genius/ brain style when it comes to focusing in your world.

1st Chakra:

As I sit here writing this blog with a 2 in long gash above my left eyelid that is trying to heal. At 2 Am a couple of nights ago my poor cat, Jethro Bodine, slipped off the window sill above my pillow and fell right into my eye lid clawing it. Blood everywhere. If there wasn’t so much blood everywhere, and I had been so terrified, I might have laughed. The title of today’s radio show is

Help! I’ve Fallen and I Can’t Get Up!: Overcoming Accidents and Injuries.

Injuries are such a common aspect of our life.. As children, we watch the Road Runner, The Coyote, Bugs Bunny and Daffy have one accident after another and they seem to always snap back, without any residue pain. When the Coyote falls off a cliff, we all laugh…but 5 seconds later, his body pops back into its former non-injured shape and he keeps going on running after…well, the Road Runner. But us? If we fall skiing, or even trip down a stair or two, injuring a knee or ankle, why is it that these body areas may plague us with pain years later? Today’s show teaches us the mind-body and medical intuitive solutions to healing those injuries than tend to accumulate over the years. What treatments have you used to keep yourself in one piece over the years?

I spend a lot of time during the day watching TV shows and lately there are a lot of stars dying for some reason.. Farrah Fawcett died of colon cancer. Michael Jackson died of a probable drug-related problem. Walter Cronkite died of a stroke/vascular disease. Steve McNair, Ex NFL quarterback was murdered.

You can see all of this outlined at the website www.hollywoodmemoir.com. They have an entire forum on celebrity deaths which gets pretty ridiculous. One the website one can see 246 posts under celebrity deaths, 91 posts under “minor celebrities” (whatever that is), 1 post for “still alive” and finally an amazing 2 posts for a category entitled “trivial deaths”. With the exception of this very peculiar statement, you will be greatly relieved to find that celebrities die from the same types of illnesses as the rest of us. Looking at this list we see most of the top three major deadly illnesses represented. #1 heart disease/stroke #2 cancer #3 addiction/substance abuse related accidents 4# murder.

We all have to die sometime; its the only way to get off the planet …However everyone of us wants to stay alive long enough to love a family, a partner, find passion, our true work, develop our voice, our intellect and our spirituality. A life threatening illness is natures wake-up call to let you know that you need to reevaluate your life purpose and help your recreate one in partnership with God, the Universe or a higher power that you believe in.  Today’s radio show on www.Hayhouseradio.com is going to teach you the medical intuitive and mind-body solutions  to our most common life threatening health problems.

Please share with me and the community on this blog how you or a loved one have turned your life around after a life threatening illness.
